Laiterie de l’Outaouais decides to proceed with the improvement of its processes by making use of more features of the Companion® Suite.

Ever since its creation over ten years ago, Laiterie de l’Outaouais has been relying on CIS Group’s Companion® software for its Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations. Now the cooperative has decided to proceed with the improvement of more processes by moving forward with a project broken up into different phases.

First, the dairy will migrate to the latest version of the Companion® Route solution on Android Honeywell CT45 handheld computers, and additional users will be equipped as well, to perform warehouse picking.

Some new features will also be implemented, such as the management of inventory in the warehouse as well as on the delivery trucks, and the preparation of orders for picking, loading, and delivery.

The next move will be to implement Companion® SKU store, a B2B application that will be put at the disposal of its customers – allowing them to be independent in placing their own orders, from anywhere and using any device. Once their list of authorized products and specific prices are attributed, each customer may connect to view SKUs with pictures, display full product details if desired, and finalize their order in mere moments. The platform may also highlight featured products and current promotions.

Proud of renewed confidence

“We are very pleased with Laiterie Outaouais’ renewed confidence in CIS applications. The Companion Suite will allow the automation of all B2B order-taking processes via our SKU store solution, invoicing on the road, and warehouse order preparation with Companion® Route, which will also send EDI transactions. A fully integrated solution will simplify the business processes of the Dairy” – Eric Tessier, CIS Group President.

About the Laiterie de l’Outaouais

In 2006, the Outaouais community learned that the Laiterie Château was shutting down. As the news spread, hundreds of people in the Outaouais region came together with a common goal: to bring a dairy back to the Outaouais.

A restart committee was formed to channel community engagement in three steps:

  1. Creating the Consumers’ Coop of the Laiterie de l’Outaouais
  2. Setting up the Employee-Shareholder Coop
  3. Launching a support campaign in the community

The committee united thousands of residents towards a common goal: allowing the beautiful region to remain a proud producer and processor of dairy products.

The following people were part of the restart committee: Yannick Bouchard, Gérald Brisebois, Denis Bureau, Patrick Duguay, Georges Émond, Guy Brousseau, Claudine Lalonde, Antoine Normand and Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin. Thanks to their determination and to all the work done, construction started on November 12, 2008, on the future site of the Laiterie de l’Outaouais. The plant officially opened on June 16, 2010.

The Laiterie de l’Outaouais is a local business that includes two Coops and a team of 30 employees who work with loving care to prepare one of the BEST glasses of milk in the province!

Over the last few years, the Laiterie de l’Outaouais developed its market by introducing its products in some 50 grocery stores and big-box stores, as well as in over a hundred corner stores. Whether you’re in Petite-Nation, Montebello, the Pontiac or even Maniwaki, you’ll find the Laiterie de l’Outaouais products in most grocery and corner stores.

Today, the Laiterie de l’Outaouais relies on a vast network of producers, members of the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, and several distributors who allow them to be present and active in the food market.

Thank you for choosing CIS Group as your trusted partner for your mobile software solutions. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the Laiterie de l’Outaouais.
