Le 25 heures de hockey orginated from a challenge set in 2008, and the event has made it possible to remit, to this day, $183,000 to organizations dedicated to helping the children.

The team of three goalies and twenty players, splilt amongst four lines, plays an uninterrupted 25 hours of hockey against 25 different teams, one hour each – men and women of all ages and calibres. In all, 250 people will hit the ice through the 25 Hours.

Thanks to the involvement of the Montreal North Shore hockey community and the support of partners, the first eight editions have made it possible to successively support several organizations: Opération Enfant Soleil, Le Bouclier Foundation, Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Leucan, Armada Club’s Sport-Study Foundation, Jean Lapointe Foundation and Action Autisme.

The last four editions have obtained the support of the Armada Blanville-Boisbriand Hockey Club, which plays in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Some active professional players have accepted the challenge and joined the team of the 25 Hours in one edition or more: Stephan Matteau Jr. (Las Vegas), Derick Brassard (Ottawa) and Cédric Paquette (Tampa Bay).

Hockey legends have also participated in the event over the years: Stéphane Matteau, Guy Carbonneau, Yvan Cournoyer, Mike Bossy, Stéphan Lebeau, Stéphane Fiset, Gaston Therrien, Dave Morissette, Joel Bouchard, Mathieu Dandenault, Eric Desjardins, Karl Dykhuis, Daniel Marois, Jocelyn Lemieux, Steven Finn, Pierre Dagenais, Enrico Ciccone, Mathieu Darche and Eric Fichaud. Numerous public figures have also joined the cause.

CIS Group is one of the sponsors of the event, and proudly salutes Mathieu Adam, Sales Director, for whom this cause is very important, and who has been giving his all on the ice throughout the duration of the challenge as a defence player in the 25 Hours team.

Éric Tessier, vice-president sales and marketing, and Nicolas Racine, Executive Account Manager, played for the CIS team against the 25 Hours team at 4:00 pm on March 10. Antonio D’Alessandro, Senior Account Manager, acted as coach.
