Strategic Decade Penetrating the U.S. Market for CIS Group
The CIS Group team is about to wrap up a successful decade with its usual presence at the triennial IBIE in Las Vegas – and this is a time to proudly look back at those fruitful years, marked with great accomplishments that decisively increased the presence of CIS on the US market –and beyond.
While it all culminates in early 2019 – with the creation of CIS USA and the opening of offices for the new business unit in Boca Raton, Florida – the review of the decade actually begins precisely at the IBIE, as a matter of fact, in 2010: the event served as the point of contact for CIS and the Bermudez Group.
Based in Trinidad and Tobago, the Bermudez Group markets forty brands of bakery products in twenty countries, including the US and Canada. A productive collaboration with CIS began in 2011, and has lasted since then.
The years that followed saw a steady influx of new clients, bakeries among them: Consolidated Bakeries, based in Jamaica, which also distributes its products in the US and Canada – and others like the Turano Baking Company, in Illinois, and Koffee Kup Bakery, in Vermont.
All the while, exhibiting at trade shows has remained a key element of marketing efforts at CIS. The list has grown to include the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association event in Atlanta, the New England Food Show in Boston, and the Americas Food Show in Miami.
As for this return to the IBIE, this year sees CIS’ first participation as a member of the American Bakers Association – and a second presence at an ABA event, following the ABA annual convention in Orlando in the spring.
